In 2015, Fundo ELAS Fund, in partnership with Instituto Unibanco - the non-profit arm of a leading Brazilian bank - and Fundação Carlos Chagas, launched Elas nas Exatas, a program that aims to reduce gender inequality in science and technology education. This program supports innovative projects in public schools to foster the talents and skills of young women by giving them equal opportunity in STEM education and providing a springboard for future careers in science and technology.

Fundo ELAS and Rede Globo

Rede Globo, the Brazilian television network (Globo), is the host of the annual Brazilian Day festival in New York City - a large outdoor event on several blocks of Avenue of the Americas that attracts over a million people yearly to celebrate Brazilian independence. In 2015, ELAS and the Brazilian Human Rights Fund partnered with Globo to launch a joint campaign, #BrazilAgainstViolence, at the festival.  Globo sponsored a tent for ELAS and the Human Rights Fund, with 50 volunteers, which attracted thousands of festival attendees. As part of the partnership, Globo produced a short video for the #BrazilAgainstViolence campaign that was highlighted at the festival.

Fundo ELAS and Chevron

In 2012, Chevron decided to establish a women’s empowerment program to create economic opportunities for women in the communities affected by its business. After researching women’s organizations in Brazil, they contacted ELAS to partner in building the program. As part of this partnership, ELAS facilitated meetings with women community groups to decide which types of businesses would be most beneficial to the relevant communities. This facilitation role was key in ensuring community needs were reflected in Chevron’s program planning.

Match International Women's Fund

In 2012, the Canadian International Development Agency defunded several of its longstanding commitments, As a result, The MATCH Fund lost 75% of its operating budget overnight, nearly shutting down the organization. Two years later, the organization underwent an extensive transformation process, rebranding as The MATCH International Women’s Fund and now serving as Canada's only international fund for women.  The organization attributes its success, in part, to its ability to leverage high impact private sector partnerships.

Semillas and Fundacion Banorte

Semillas and Fundación Banorte have been working in partnership since 2011. Fundación Banorte initially funded individual grants for existing projects addressing the urgent needs of women in Mexico.  In 2014, Semillas began supporting Fundación Banorte in its strategic outreach by sharing its strategies on evaluation procedures and fundraising.  The exchange of learning and practice created mutual trust, and provided a foundation for bigger engagement.  Working together with Semillas staff, the director and manager of Fundación Banorte supported Semillas in preparing a proposal that addressed the bank’s focus on women’s social impact as well as the fund’s needs and mission, which resulted in the bank funding an innovative project to strengthen grassroots women’s organizations using art and communication.
