Our Story
The Win-Win Coalition supports women and girls globally by expanding the resources available to empower women and advance women’s rights through enhanced cross-sector collaboration, particularly between the corporate sector and women’s organizations and funds.
The Win-Win Coalition grew out of a cross-sector meeting held in Amsterdam in January 2015 to discuss new strategies for collaboration to advance women’s rights in light of the growing interest in the private and public sectors in programs to empower women and girls.
Participants recognized that that there was a need to create new spaces for learning, knowledge production, development of relationships, and mobilization of resources, not only among companies, corporate foundations, women's funds and grassroots women's organizations, but also with INGOs, fund advisors, private foundations and the public sector. The Win-Win Coalition was established to be one of those new spaces, with initial funding from the Oak Foundation and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and subsequently from the Foundation for a Just Society.
Win-Win Strategies was launched in September 2016 to expand, enhance and operationalize the work of the Win-Win Coalition.

Governance
The Coalition functions as a structured network. Prior to becoming part of Win-Win Strategies, the Coalition was governed by a Steering Committee, headed by Emilienne de Leon Aulina, the Executive Director of Prospera (the International Network of Women's Funds) and run by Marissa Wesely, as Coordinator. Upon the incorporation of Win-Win Strategies in September 2016, the Steering Committee ceased to exist, Marissa Wesely became the Chief Executive Officer of Win-Win Strategies, and Emilienne de Leon Aulina became the Chair of the Board of Directors of Win-Win Strategies.
